Comparative studies of colpo, uro, and buccal smears from each of 123 healthy gravidas whose gestational age ranged from 7th week to 44th week were carried out, and obtained results were summarized as follows.
Percentages of superficial cells found up to tho 12th week, 28th week and 44th week of gestation in order of clop, uro, buccal smears were 12.2%, 9.7%, 5.8%, 10. 1%, 7.4%, 7.7% and 4.7%, 5.4%, 5.6% respectively.
Percentages of intermediate cells found up to the 12th week and 28th week of gestation in. order of colpo, uro, buccal smears were 88.1%, 89.7%, 94. 2% and 89.8%, 90.9%, 92. 1% and on the group of up to 44th week of gestation revealed 95.´3%, 91.9 %,~ 94.5% respectively.
Percentages of parabasal cells found up to the 12th week, 28th week and 44th week of gestation =only- on the smear of urinary tract were 0.5%, I.,7%,´and 2.7% of relatively high values respectively.
Mean of superficial cells, intermediate and parabasal cells found throughout the gestation in order of colpo, uro and buccal smears were 8.5%, 7.2%, 6.3%, 91.4%, 90.9%, 93.7%. and 0.02 %, L8%, .0 % respectively.
